Makeup Hack| Clean Your Beauty Bleander with Coconut Oil and Dish Soap

Here’s a super easy and cost effecient way to clean your Beauy Blender in four simple steps!

First, let me preface this by saying, I purposely buy the Nude Beauty Blender so that my foundation doesn’t stain it as bad. The BB I am using for this example doesn’t look as dramatic as intended due to the lighting…but trust me it’s disgusting.

That’s an even layer or filth. Yikes.

Anyway, this is just a cheap and effective way to quickly clean your sponges. The dish soap is great for lifting stains and adds an antibacterial element to the process, while the coconut oil conditions and removes stains as well.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. One Bowl

  2. Dishwashing liquid

  3. Coconut oil

  4. Dry Paper towels (or clean towel)

1

I use dish soap because it’s antibacterial, but you can use whatever soap is handy. i.e. shampoo, facial cleanser, baby soap, etc.

Drop the coconut oil in the water, and rub it until it dissolve into the water. I like to keep a little chunk on my hand to rub onto the sponge, too.

3

Lather the sponge until all visible stains are gone.

Step 4: Rinse and blot with a paper towel or clean towel, until the water runs clear and there is no longer any soap still saturating the sponge.

Allow it to air dry, andthen you have a fresh, new sponge!
